Here we are nearly at the end of another year. Welcome to those new members who have joined our club and congratulations to you for choosing dragon boat paddling as a sport. It is a team sport that offers a full body workout and can offer many challenges, it depends what you want to achieve from dragon boating. You may want to just enjoy the sport on our beautiful river or compete in regattas, State titles, National titles or Pan Pacific masters games. The opportunities are there for you if you want. A big welcome back to Bron and Nigel Sutton who have been part of the dragon boat community and our club for many years. With the Jacaranda regatta approaching, it is obvious you are all keen to compete as we will be able to field 2 teams – women’s sports and mixed sports. The competition at the Jacaranda is always fast and furious and really good fun. Congratulations to our newest sweep Kathy and our new coaches Irene and Rhonda. Anyone else who would like to have a go at sweeping or coaching, don’t hesitation to ask. There is always the need for as many people to train and become qualified. A few dates to mark on your calendar:- Final day of paddling for 2017: Wednesday 13th December, 2017 Christmas Party for 2017: Friday 15th December, 2017 Resume paddling 2018: Saturday 20th January, 2018 All the photographs on our website have been removed and will be replaced as soon as possible and hopefully will include some from this year’s Jacaranda regatta. Hopefully our numbers will continue to increase in 2018 and with this I am sure we can look forward to attending more regattas and a great year of paddling. Gail
